Statement: All* Above All Action Fund and Partners Call for Concrete Steps to Achieve True Reproductive and Economic Justice

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Together, All* Above All Action Fund, Jobs With Justice, and One Fair Wage Action Fund are committed to building the political power of women of color, low-income folks, and workers to end abortion coverage bans and achieve true reproductive and economic justice. We are reimagining a world in which each of us makes a living wage; all of us, including Black essential workers who are saving lives during the pandemic like Breonna Taylor, live free from violence; and everyone has access to the healthcare we need. We need and deserve leaders who will help us turn that vision into reality with bold actions.

This is a crucial moment for Black and brown communities, women, LGBTQ folks, immigrants, and young people. We will not accept broad promises from our candidates. Speaking out against racism is the floor. Codifying the legal right to abortion is the floor. Paying people a living wage is the floor. To build safer and stronger communities, we need specific and concrete commitments to action.

We call on Joe Biden to commit to: releasing the specific actions he will take to undo the harmful legacy of the Hyde Amendment; ensuring equal representation of workers, both union and non-union, on any economic recovery council; and nominating a Supreme Court Justice with a demonstrable commitment to economic and reproductive justice.

All* Above All Action Fund is the first reproductive justice effort that builds political power to lift bans that deny abortion coverage.
